DownloadCurrently the Scarlett Curator at the Whitney Western Art Museum of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Susan Barnett previously served as curator for the Yellowstone Art Museum and Erie Art Museum, executive director of the Cedarburg Cultural Center and Copper Village Museum, project specialist at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, and intern at the Milwaukee Art Museum. She also founded and managed a gallery and framing business. Barnett has an M.A. in art history and a B.A. in fine art-printmaking.
With 20 years curating exhibitions and managing arts organizations, skills include leading nonprofit organizations, empowering boards and staff, curating exhibitions, balancing budgets, presenting performances and events, mentoring staff, and connecting artists with audiences. I work well under pressure and produce high-quality work on time and under budget. I have strong leadership, writing, visual, design, and technical skills.
To work with artists and the committed, creative, and caring individuals who staff, and support nonprofit arts organizations.
